Program

Day By Day

Day 1: Meeting in Marrakech

Welcome at the airport and transfer to the hotel. D.

Day 2: Transfer > Tislit Lake (2300 m)

Departure early in the morning and transfer to Imilchil. A total of 8 hours of driving. Picnic break in the forest shortly before arriving in Aghbala. The road crosses the Haouz plain before entering the Middle Atlas mountains. Crossing Beni Mellal and climbing towards the Imilchil plateau. Arrival at Tislit Lake. Meeting with the muleteers. Camp near the lake. BLD.

Day 3: Trek > Imilchil (2159 m) > Oudiddi (2100 m). M: 5h

First day of warming up! A small path winds towards the high plateau where Imilchil nestles. The plateau, surrounded by the high mountains of the eastern Atlas, slopes slowly towards the entrance to the Assif Melloul gorges. Camp at Oudiddi. BLD.

Day 4: and D 5 Trek > Assif Melloul > Batli (1600 m). M: 7h per day

Two days of descent towards Assif Melloul. Up to Oughazi, the valley remains wide and cultivated but without villages due to the violent moods of the river. The forest is often present and the landscape, increasingly wild. A few sheepfolds near the path. We arrive on the second day at the small village of Batli. Ford crossings (depending on the period). Be careful, depending on the climate, these stages can be diverted by a passage in the mountains. Camp at Batli. BLD.

Day 6: Trek > Col ​​de Dari (1968 m) > Aït Boulmane (1500 m). M: 4h

Small climb in the middle of the Aleppo pines and the song of the cicadas! From the Dari pass, beautiful view of the Anergui valley. Quiet descent to reach Aït Boulmane in the Assif Melloul. Free afternoon; swimming possible or visit to the village of Aït Boulmane. BLD.

Day 7: Trek > Imedrhas plateau (2100 m) > Aït Tous (2200 m). M: 7h

Climb to the Imedrhas plateau by a very beautiful mule track. Water is very rare on the plateau. Camp at Aït Tous, the only water point, gathering place for local shepherds. BLD.

Day 8: trek > Imidal (2300 m) > Tighanimine (1600 m). M: 7h

We finish crossing the plateau and descend to a group of troglodyte houses, still used today by the Aït Hdiddou during transhumance. Descent into the Assif Ahançal valley. Camp upstream from Zahwa Ahançal, in Tighanimine for 2 nights. BLD.

Day 9: Trek round trip > Taghia (2000 m). M: 4h

Superb walk at the entrance to the Taghia gorges. By a small steep path, we reach the village of the same name. The gorges are impressive… Rest and swimming possible. Return and Tighanimine camp. BLD.

Day 10: Trek > Aqqua Tazaght > Tizi Taghboula (3032 m). M: 7h

Superb day in one of the wildest corners of the Atlas. Magnificent limestone canyon that we discover on small shepherds' paths. The path comes out on a plateau perched at 3000 meters and inhabited by the Aït Atta nomads. Camp on the heights not far from Tizi Taghboula. BLD.

Day 11: Trek > Tighboula > Izourar Lake (2500 m). M: 5h

Following the contour lines, in a very bare landscape, we cross the Bouzgou plateau; a mineral world in its purest state! Passage of Tizi'n' Igourane (3200 m) and the Bouzgou pass. Here we find inhabited places. Night in a lodge in Tichki. BLD.

Day 12: Trek > Izourar lake > Ait Bougumez valley (2150m). M: 3h

Pleasant crossing of villages after these two days spent in lunar mountains! Quiet descent to reach the Haut M'Goun before a climb through a string of very preserved villages. Very beautiful Berber architecture. BLD.

Day 13: Trek > Tizi-n-Tanout (3074 m) > Azib Tafenfent (2800 m). M: 7h

We approach the heights of the Central Atlas, preparation for the assault of the M'Goun. Climb of the Assif Amougr Saln; beautiful landscapes of pastures dotted with a few fairy chimneys. Crossing the Tizi-n-Tanout pass. Bivouac at the M'Goun base camp near the Tafenfent sheepfolds 2800 m. BLD.

Day 14: Trek > M'Goun (4068 m) > Tarkaddit (2900 m). M: 9h

Superb climb by the northern ridge, little frequented. No major difficulties; only the final part requires a little more attention on a small stony track. Allow 4 to 5 hours of climbing. Descent by the normal route which takes the western ridge. Camp on the Tarkeddid plateau, at the sources of the Tessaout. BLD.

Day 15: Trek > Tizi Asdrem (3200 m) > Azib Imi'n'Ikkiss (2200 m). M: 7h

We go back up the northern side of the Wandras gorges into which the Assif Tessaout flows. The Tizi Asdrem gives us access to the middle valley of the Tessaout. Picnic in Tasgaîwalt, the highest village; many fertile crops in the beautiful basin facing the village. Continue the descent next to the river. Camp at the Imi-n-Ikkiis sheepfolds. BLD.

Day 16: Trek > Ichbakken (2000 m) > Aït Ali Ito (1825 m) > Megdaz (1961m). M: 6h

Descent on the right bank of the Tessaout. A few villages dot this magnificent and smiling valley including Ichbakken, perched on its rock like an eagle's nest. Descent to Aït Ali Ito where we turn due south to climb back up towards the ridges. Pretty path between the villages to reach Megdaz, one of the most beautiful villages in the Atlas. Camp in the shade of century-old walnut trees. BLD.

Day 17: Trek > Tizi Megdaz (2454 m) > Taoudja (2500 m). M: 6h

The Megdaz pass leads to the Azib of Tagoukht. Picnic under the walnut trees near the torrent. We go back up towards the watershed. Beautiful mule track to a spring. Camp at Taoudja (2500m). Breathtaking view. BLD.

Day 18: Trek > Tizi-n-Fedghat (2181 m) > Tizi Timililt (2850 m) > Tamda Lake (2667 m). M: 6h

Still by a beautiful mule track, we climb up to the Timililt pass. Beautiful panorama of Tamda Lake. The path tumbles down into the scree. Swimming in the blue waters. Camp on the edge of the lake at the foot of Adrar Anoghmar. BLD.

Day 19: Trek > Tighza (1920 m). M: 5h

We enjoy this beautiful place before deciding to begin our last descent towards the plains. The landscape is gentle and unfolds quietly before our eyes. A few sheepfolds before returning to the villages. Camp at Tighza. BLD.

Day 20: Trek > Animiter (1760 m). Transfer > Marrakech. M: 3h

Last morning to walk in the beautiful villages of the valley. We find our vehicles in Animiter. A short transfer takes us to the Kasbah of Telouet. Visit of the Kasbah before going back down to Marrakech for the beautiful road of Tizi-n-Tichka. Night in a **** hotel in Marrakech. BLD.
