Accommodation:

In Marrakech in a 3* hotel with BB. During the hike, in a tent (tent for 2 people, one mattress per person and fitted sheet provided).

Program

Day 1:

Arrival at the airport, transfer and overnight at the hotel (3 star hotel)

Day 2:

Transfer to the Dades Valley on the southern slope of the Central High Atlas. Lunch stop in Ouarzazate, in the afternoon continue to the Dades Valley where we will join the nomads' camp with their herds of goats, sheep and camels. Setting up our camp nearby.

Day 3 to 8:

We will live a real experience with the Aît Atta nomads, with one or more families, we will walk at the pace of the herd in a friendly atmosphere, we will cross passes and we will cross mountains towards the pastures at high altitude where the nomads will spend 3 months of summer.

Day 9:

Farewell Nomad friends. Return by minibus or 4x4 to Marrakech, night at the hotel.

Day 10:

Transfer and assistance at the airport and return.

This price includes: 3 nights in a 3-star hotel in Marrakech on a bed and breakfast basis, 4×4 or minibus transfers to and from the transhumance, full board during the stay, luggage transport, guide services, bivouac equipment.

Not included: meals in Marrakech, drinks, insurance and tips.

Accompaniement:

Accompanying guide and interpreter from the mountain (Ait Bougumez valley), speaking French and English, he is also responsible for the progress of your trek in the company of a nomadic family (icho family), the program can be modified if the weather conditions require it.

Difficulty:

The stages are adapted to the rhythm of the nomadic herd, it is also linked to the place where the herd will have water and food, in general the stages are 4 to 5 hours of walking except on the day of crossing a pass at 3100 m this stage is the longest around 6 hours of walking with elevation gain, you have to accept rudimentary conditions also a weather which can be poor which can force the guide to lengthen certain stages to avoid difficult passages for you and for the nomadic family and its treaupou.

Carrying:

Luggage is carried by mules and camels. Bring a small backpack for the day’s needs: water bottle, camera, sweater, etc.

Food:

Breakfast is included at the hotel in Marrakech, during the hike one of us cooks (Ahmed, Baicho or Lahcen) will take care of your meals, breakfast our cook will serve you: tea, coffee, cheese, bread, a fruit of the season, lunch: tea + Moroccan salad, a hot dish, dessert and Moroccan tea at the end, in the evening our cook prepares a tagine, couscous or pasta,

WATER

Water is always abundant in the mountains but on our route, 1 to 2 bivouac locations, you must plan for sufficient quantity for cooking and drinking because the sources are out of the way.

Equipment:

All the logistical equipment is provided (kitchen, mattresses, mess tent, toilet tent, tarpaulins, mats, chairs), except personal equipment, we will send you, once the reservation of this trip is made, the list of equipment necessary to bring it.
